Three persons were today arrested for lifting baggages of passengers from sleeper coaches on trains, Government Railway Police said.

"Ajay K Poddar (24), Amit Kumar (20) and Mritunjay Kumar, (22), all hailed from Bihar, were arrested and jewellery worth Rs 11 lakh and other domestic goods were recovered from them," GRP sources said.

They used to board the sleeper coaches of trains on Delhi- Rajasthan routes and during night when passengers were asleep they would rob and get off at the next station and get back to Delhi with booty, quoting their modus operandi, the GRP said.

On a special checking drive, when GRP personnel intercepted one of them carrying a baggage, the accused divulged the theft information and revealed links of his accomplices who were later arrested, they said.
