Three persons were arrested from here for allegedly kidnapping an eight-year-old boy on Friday, police said today.
Krishna Kant, Inder and Vineet have confessed to have kidnapping the child, Superintendent of Police (Rural) Aditya Kumar Shukla said.
During interrogation, the accused said they had planned to demand a ransom of Rs 20 lakh as they wanted to open a factory, the officer said.
"The boy, Laxman, was rescued within 22 hours of his kidnapping from an area on the ouskirts of the Mehrana village here," the SP said.
The accused could not make the ransom demand as the mobile phone of the boy's father was switched off, he said.
They were booked under relevant sections of the Indian Penal Code and provisions of the Gangester Act, the officer said.
