Three persons were arrested today for allegedly killing an elderly couple in Vishwakarma area in the city, police said.
Prabhati Lal (70) wanted to sell his land which was in his son's name and had contacted some buyers. One Ramjilal wanted to usurp the land and hatched a conspiracy to eliminate him," they said.
He along with five others entered the premises of the residence of Lal early in the morning yesterday. While three of them kept a watch outside and the other three entered the house and strangulated Prabhati Lal and his wife Sarju Devi after forcefully getting the documents signed from Lal, they said.
They also got his thumb impression on papers which led the police to the culprits, police said.
Ramjilal, Hemraj and Rajendra have been arrested, they said, adding the other three are absconding.
