Three persons have been arrested in connection with the murder of a man and stabbing of three others in north east Delhi, police said.

A PCR call was received about a quarrel in Khajuri Khas on February 14. When police reached the spot, they found four people have been stabbed. They were rushed to a hospital, a police official said.

According to a statement by Wasim, a resident of Paharganj, his sister Rukhsar had called him on February 14 complaining that she was beaten by her husband Parvez, father-in-law Rahis and brothers-in-law Nadeem and Shoaib.

Wasim, along with his father and other relatives, approached a local to mediate and resolve the matter. Parvez, Rahis, Nadeem and Shoaib were also called there, police said.

Later, Rukhsar insisted on going to her maternal home. Wasim's acquaintance Abdul Gaffar requested Rahis and Parvez to allow her to go. At this Rahis and Parvez got infuriated and allegedly attacked them, they said.

Abdul Gaffar (50), Mohammad Sayid (42), Subhrati Khan (54), Amruddin (57), were injured in the attack. Sayid later succumbed to his injuries, the official said.

Yesterday, acting on a tip-off that the accused would reach Jahangirpuri Metro station, Rahis, Parvez and Rehan were arrested, DCP(north west) Milind Dumbere said.

During interrogation, the accused claimed that Wasim had picked up a knife and threatened them. Parvez allegedly snatched the knife and stabbed Wasim's relatives, he added.
