3 arrested in connection with attack on Naga youths

Three persons were today arrested in connection with the attack on three youths from Nagaland for refusing to have drinks with the attackers at Sikenderpur here, police said.

"The arrested were identified as Gaurav Yadav, a resident of Sikanderpur, Ram Bihari, who hails from Aligarh in Uttar Pradesh and Vijay Kumar from Nadia in West Bengal," Gurgaon DCP Nazneen Bhasin, Chief Nodal Officer for Crime Against People from North East Region, said.

The three accused were arrested from Sikenderpur village under section 307 (Attempt to murder), 342 (wrongful confinement), 323 (voluntarily causing hurt), 506 (criminal intimidation), 147, 148 (rioting) of IPC and SC/ST Act, he said.
 

The youths from Nagaland were allegedly were allegedly beaten up with sticks and iron rods by about eight persons on Wednesday night following an altercation between accused and victims when the trio refused to have drink with them, police said.

Two youths had sustained severe injuries and had their hairs cut by the attackers, police said.

Bhasin informed that the arrested have confessed to their crime during interrogation.
