3 bank officials booked for graft

Three officials of a private bank were booked for allegedly demanding and accepting bribe from a villager here, police said today.

A case has been registered against Bank Manager M C Sharma, cashier Sanjay and field officer A L Aggarwal, they said.

The case was registered against the three bank officials on the direction of District Magistrate D K Singh who took up the complaint of victim Chater Singh, a resident of Jatmujhera village.

The victim alleged that the officials have asked for bribe in return for facilitating a loan. But despite accepting the bribe, they were not sanctioning the loan, he alleged.
 

An investigation is underway, police said.
