The SSP further said that they had established a liaison among themselves to revive terrorist activities in the state and had also motivated some persons with criminal background to join their terrorist module.
Arms and ammunitions including a rifle, pistols 315 bore and cartridges were recovered from them, Mann said.
This terrorist module, which apparently obtained weapons from Uttar Pradesh, was conspiring to obtain arms and ammunitions through the UP-Nepal route for carrying out a major terrorist strike, he said.
Putting light on their criminal background, Mann said the preliminary questioning of the arrested revealed that Jasvir has been an active member of BKI and an important conduit of Paramjit Singh Bheora, chief of the banned outfit.
He had been previously arrested by the Special Cell of Delhi Police along with Bheora in 2006.
On Gurdeep, Mann said he has been an important associate of Jagtar Singh Hawara, a prominent BKI member, and had apparently played a role in the 2004 Burail jail break.
Gurdeep was designated as the area commander of Fatehgarh Sahib district by Hawara and has been involved in as many as 13 cases including terrorism related offences, robberies, drug offences and attempt to murder, the SSP said.
Mann informed reporters that Amarjit is also an important associate of Hawara.
