Three boys, including two brothers, are feared drowned after they were swept away by a strong flow of water when they were bathing in Chambal River's Left Main Canal here this afternoon, police said today.

Pavan Rathore (16), his brother Yogesh (14) and friend Suraj Kandara (17) were bathing in the canal when the three boys, one after the other, were swept away by a strong flow of water, Dhanraj Meena, SHO of Udohyog Nagar Police Station said.

"A search operation was initiated after the family members of the three boys informed police about the incident. The bodies are yet to be recovered. Due to low visibility the search operation had to be suspended and will be resumed tomorrow morning," he said.

Water is released from the Chambal river into canals for irrigation purposes these days.
