Three persons were charred to death as their car caught fire allegedly due to CNG leakage at Sector 71 here, police said today.

Gajendra (38), Devendra (38) and Narendra (28) were consuming alcohol inside the vehicle last night when they saw smoke emanating from it, Gurgaon Police PRO Ravinder Kumar said.

The trio was unable to get out of the vehicle as its doors got jammed. They were burnt alive, he said, adding a possible CNG leak could have triggered the accident.

The official said passers-by informed the police about the incident.

A team of fire fighters and officers from Badshahpur police station rushed to the spot, Kumar said.

The bodies have been sent for postmortem, he added.
