Three children drowned while taking bath in a pond in Sontli village near Shahjadpur today, police said.
The deceased were identified as Harpreet (10), Sukhchain (12) and Gaurav (9), they said.
Due to heavy rainfall in the region, the water level had risen in the pond. Some other children who were also taking bath in the pond informed the villagers about the incident, the police said.
The victims were rushed to a civil hospital here, where doctors declared them brought dead.
The bodies were handed over to their family members after postmortem, the police added.
