3-day annual Rose festival begins in Chandigarh

The three-day annual 'Rose festival' began here today with the Union Territory administrator Shivraj Patil declaring it open.

There was fun n frolic and entertainment and festivities for the residents of Chandigarh, Panchkula and Mohali as well as visitors coming here for celebration of the festival.

The inaugural ceremony witnessed beating of drums, releasing of balloons, playing of bands, folk dance performances displayed by different states, showcasing of regional art forms, organisers said.

The festival showcases a wide array of flower arrangements and holding of competitions in different categories of flowers.
