A three-day day Global Agro Meet (GAM), focussing on opportunities in value added agriculture, fisheries and food processing, will be inaugurated by Union minister Radha Mohan Singh here on November 6.
The meet will create a new synergy among all stakeholders in the agricultural sector by bringing farmers, consumers, industry and government together, state agriculture minister K P Mohanan told reporters here.
It would also help farmers adopt latest technologies in agriculture, introduce new methods of cultivation practised across the globe which was in line with the government's plan to promote Kerala as a destination of high tech farming and farming industry, he said.

So far over 200 entrepreneurs have registered for the GAM, Mohanan said, adding an investor has evinced interest in setting up hi-tech cattle farms at Kozhikode and Thrissur.
The meet is being organised in partnership with the Kerala State Industrial Development Corporation and Confederation of Indian Industry at nearby Angamaly.
The minister said the focus would be to promote agriculture and the agro-processing sector by showcasing opportunities for entrepreneurship, investment, partnership in the state in the sector. New technology and methods of value addition would also be showcased, he said.
Representatives from the Netherlands, New Zealand, Korea, Germany, Europe, Sri Lanka are expected to participate the conference being held as part of the meet.
