3 dozen gold biscuits seized along Bangla border; one held

BSF troops have seized over three dozen gold biscuits weighing 4kg being smuggled allegedly by a Bangladeshi national at the border near Petrapole in West Bengal.

The incident happened yesterday when a Border Security Force patrol intercepted a 27-year-old Bangladeshi national from near the Integrated Check Post area in Petrapole.

"A total of 37 gold biscuits weighing over 4kg were seized from the person. The estimated value of the seized gold is Rs 1.15 crore," a senior BSF officer said.

The apprehended person has been handed over to Customs authorities, the officer said.
