3 drug peddlers held, heroin seized in JK

Three alleged drug-peddlers were arrested with heroin in two separate operations in Reasi and Samba districts of Jammu and Kashmir today, police said.

Two motorcycle-borne youths were arrested after 30 grams of heroin were recovered from them during checks at Ballini in Katra township of Reasi district, a police spokesman said.

He identified the arrested persons as Shubham Singh and Randhir Singh and said a weighing machine was also recovered from their possession.

A case under relevant sections of law was registered against them, he said.

In another operation, the spokesman said one more drug peddler, Sahi Singh, was arrested by a police party during patrolling near railway station in Vijaypur area of Samba district.

 

One gram of heroin was recovered from him, he said adding he was booked under the Narcotic Drugs and Psychotropic Substances (NDPS) Act.
