Three fraudulent travel agents were arrested today after raiding a local marriage palace at Una road here and recovered over 100 passports of job seekers wishing to go abroad from them.

The trio had advertised in vernacular newspaper about providing 200 jobs in Kuwait in various trades for which 109 youths submitted their passports along with Rs 3,000 each as registration fees, police said.

The agents, identified as Deepak Kumar, Surinder Kumar and Karnail Singh, called the victims today in the marriage palace for an interview.

According to the deal struck with the accused, each youth had to pay Rs 50,000 to them after the finalisation of their cases, they said.

A case under relevant sections of the Immigration Act had been registered against them, police added.
