Three fishermen were missing
from Kendodwip area in Sunderbans for past three days, an office-bearer of the West Bengal United Fishermen Association said today.
The three, part of a 28-member group from Basanti and Jharkhali areas, were fishing in three trawlers on Wednesday night but did not return the following morning, the office-bearer said.

However, 25 of them came back later on in the trawlers but there was no news about the rest three.
The association filed a complaint at the Sunderbans Coastal Police station and a senior police officer said police were conducting searches on getting the complaint.
"We have unconfirmed reports that the three have been held captive by Bangladeshi pirates for hefty ransom and we are trying to establish contact. We will also approach the Coastguard and conduct searches with our own trawlers and men," the Association office-bearer said.
