Anxious moments prevailed for some time at the domestic arrival area of the airport here as three men got stuck in a lift after its doors jammed.

They were brought out safely later.

Airport officials said the men found the doors stuck when they tried to get off on the ground floor. They then raised an alarm, following which attendants corrected a defect, physically opened the door and brought them out safely.

Earlier today morning, Union Civil Aviation Minister Ashok Gajapathi Raju arrived here from Port Blair en route to Bengaluru.

The airport employees submitted a memorandum to him, urging the Centre to not go in for any kind of privatisation in airport operations.

The minister later left for Bengaluru.
