Three class X girl students of a government aided school in the district have fled their homes after teachers asked them to come with their parents over their 'poor' academic performance, police said today.
The girls studying in the school at Chinnamanur had scored very low marks in the first mid-term examinations held recently and were pulled up by the teachers over it yesterday.
The teachers also told them to bring their parents.

Afraid of informing their parents, the girls did not return to their homes from the school, police said.
On a complaint from the parents that their daughters were missing, a search was on for them, police said.
Preliminary investigations indicated that the girls have pledged some gold jewel at a local pawn shop and taken some money.
