Three persons were
arrested today by forest officials on the charge of hunting rabbits in Pullangudi Tank area near Peraavoor in the district.
Forest personnel recovered 17 rabbits from the trio, forester Ganesalingapandian said.
He said the population of rabbits and birds had immensely improved following good rains this year in and around the tank and they had deployed special team to nab the anti-social elements hunting them,
A forest team had been deployed on patrol duty to protect the birds and other wild animals.
The three arrested were produced before a court and remanded to judicial custody.
