Three men have been arrested for allegedly brutally murdering a 34-year-old man as one of them was having an illicit affair with the deceased's wife, police said today.
Police had found the body of a man whose face was completely disfigured in Jaitpur area of south-east Delhi on Tuesday. He was later identified as Nabi Mohammad.
Police found that Irfan alias Furkan, who was having an illicit affair with Noor Fatima, wife of Mohammad, had killed him with the help of his two friends as the deceased was blackmailing him for money, threatening that he would inform Furkan's wife about the affair.

After Mohammad's murder, a police team reached his house and questioned Fatima, who initially tried to mislead the police saying she did not know anything.
However, on sustained questioning, she broke down and disclosed that she was having an illicit relation with Irfan, who used to financially support them. Her husband got to know about their affair about a year ago.
"Surprisingly, instead of opposing their relation, he got Fatima married to Irfan. He then started extorting money from Irfan, threatening him that he would disclose his secret before his first wife.
"On December 9, Irfan had an argument with Mohammad after which he decided to kill him and roped in his friends Rakesh and Suraj in his plan. The trio called him to meet them at Pushta road where they killed him," a police official said.
They disfigured Mohammad's face and fled from the spot. The accused also threatened Fatima not to reveal about the incident to anyone or they would kill her children.
Police said they were also probing the role of Fatima in the murder.
