Three persons have been arrested for robbing a property dealer of Rs 45 lakh, after holding him captive at his own house in south Delhi's Chhatarpur area, police said today.
Pawan Sharma, a property dealer, told police that a person, who identified himself as S K Sawaria, approached him saying that he wants to purchase a property in Delhi, Additional DCP-I Nupur Prasad said.
Sharma showed him two to three properties including his own house in Chhatarpur. Sawaria showed interest in buying Sharma's house and arrived there on October 21 with two other persons, she said.

"They tied Sharma and his wife and looted Rs 45 lakh, jewellery and property documents. They threatened him of destroying the property documents if he calls police. Else, they would courier the documents," Prasad said.
Acting on a specific input, one of the accused, Bijender Singh, was arrested from Najafgarh and Rs 1,85,000 was recovered from him," the officer said.
During interrogation, he disclosed the name of the gang leader, Ravi, who had hatched the plan along with Sameer Chugh, Kaku and Dinesh, she claimed.
"Chugh is a property dealer who gave the accused information about the money kept in Sharma's house. Chugh was arrested and Rs 50,000 of the robbed cash was recovered from him," the officer said.
On Thursday, Dinesh Kumar was arrested from Noida and Rs eight lakh, a gold chain looted from the house and the car used in committing the crime was recovered, Prasad said.
Ravi and his accomplice Kaku are still absconding and a hunt is on to nab them, the officer said.
