3 held for selling ganja to college students, auto drivers

: Three persons were arrested today and two kilos of 'ganja' seized from one of them, a frequent offender, for allegedly selling the drug to college students and autorickshaw drivers in city, police said today.

Acting on a tip off that the drug was being sold across the city, particularly near colleges, police formed a special team to monitor such cases, a police press release said.

The team nabbed Ganesan, a frequent offender for allegedly selling the ganja, brought from Andhra Pradesh, to college students and auto-drivers, it said.

Ganesan had twice been been jailed for the same crime in the past, the release said, adding the ganja was seized from him during questioning.
 

The two others who were arrested were wanted in several cases, it said, adding the trio are currently lodged in prison in Puzhal.
