3 held in East Delhi, police claim to have busted gang

Delhi Police arrested three persons and claimed to have busted a gang allegedly involved in several incidents of chain-snatching and auto-lifting.

According to the police, Amit Singh (22), Aman (22) and Amit Prasad (29) were apprehended from Gazipur in East Delhi after police received a tip-off about their movements.

"A tip off was received that the three men were planning some big crime and they will be carrying weapons. A trap was laid and the trio were apprehended from a car.

"A pistol loaded with three cartridges, a loaded country-made pistol with one spare live cartridge and a knife were recovered from their possession", said Deputy Commissioner of Police (East) Ajay Kumar.
 

During interrogation, the trio reportedly told police that they have committed several crimes of snatching and auto-lifting.

Three motorcycles have been recovered so far at their instance, police said.
