3 Indians among 7 held with 30 kg hashish in Nepal

Three Indians and four Nepalese nationals were arrested today for trying to smuggle 30 kg of 'hashish' to India from central Nepal's Makawanpur district, police said.

The seven, carrying bags filled with the contraband, were arrested from a hotel during a raid by security personnel in the district headquarters of Makawanpur, about 110 km south of the national capital Kathmandu, said Raju Aryal, Senior Superintendent of Police.

Some 30 kg of hashish, a vehicle bearing an Indian registration number, six mobile phones and Rs 33,000 Indian currency were seized from them.

The hashish was being smuggled to India from Kathmandu.
 

They said the arrested have been handed to the District Police Office along with the confiscated materials for further investigation.
