Three persons were injured in a brawl which broke out in the Muradnagar area between revellers during a marriage procession, police said today.

Police said that stones were pelted and vehicles vandalised due to the clash which took place last night at Brijvihar Colony in Muradnagar.

According to police, two youths, identified as Kapil and Rahul, have been arrested for their role in the brawl.

"While dancing during a marriage procession, two groups of 'baratis' suddenly got involved in a fight, which turned ugly when they started pelting stones at each other," said a senior police officer, adding that three persons were injured in the incident.

"Although some of the youths who were involved in the fight fled the spot when police arrived, Kapil and Rahul, both residents of Meerut, were held for their role in the disturbance," the officer said.

He said that footage from CCTV cameras installed in the area was being scanned to identify the others involved in the brawl.
