3 injured in inter village clash in Manipur

Three villagers sustained gun shot injuries during a dispute between two villages in Manipur's Senapati district yesterday, a police officer said.

The incident occurred late last night when large number of villagers of Singda Erang went to meet their counterparts from Singda Kuki after the latter reportedly dismantled a newly constructed house of the former, the officer said.

However, a heated argument ensued leading to a scuffle during which the three villagers received bullet wounds after unidentified persons fired few rounds, the police officer said.

The injured who hails from Singda Erang village included Hokison (18), Wisdam (22) and N Boipu (25) and were rushed to RIMS for medical treatment where their condition was stated to be critical, the officer said.
