Three people were killed today and 11 others injured after the vehicle they were travelling in skidded off the road and fell into a deep gorge in Pratapnagar area of Tehri district, police said.
The accident took place this morning when the driver of the SUV, travelling to Chinyalisaur from Rajputon, lost control near Timli Chowk causing the vehicle to plunge into a 33 m-deep gorge.
Three persons identified as Bhagwan Singh (38), Khushal Singh (60) and Mahavir Lal (58) were killed on the spot, Lambgaon Station In-charge J P Kohli said.
The injured were rushed to a nearby hospital, he said.
