Three persons were killed and 14 others injured today as a jeep in which they were travelling lost control and overturned near a village on NH-31 in Bihar's Khagaria district, a police officer said.
The incident took place near Morkahi village as the jeep carrying scores of people lost control and overturned after being hit by another vehicle from behind, the Superintendent of Police (SP) Anil Kumar Singh said.
While three jeep occupants died on the spot, 14 others sustained injuries, he said, adding the deceased were identified as Sikandar Paswan (45) and Dhiraj Kumar (25), natives of Munger district besides, Shiv Shankar (25) of Bhagalpur district.
The bodies have been sent for post-mortem and the injured taken to Sadar hospital for treatment. The attending doctors referred four seriously injured to Patna Medical College and Hospital (PMCH), Singh said.
