Three persons, including two minor girls, were killed and 15 others injured after the railing of rooftop of a house collapsed as a crowd assembled at the spot to watch a marriage procession in Bihar's Buxar district, police said today.
The incident took place late last night as the railing of rooftop suddenly came off, unable to withstand the weight of a large number of people standing on the structure to have a glimpse of the 'barat' passing by underneath, at Ghanchapra village, Brahmpur police station in-charge Gorakhnath said.
The victims were identified as 32 year-old woman Taimur Nisha and two girls - Gulal Ansari (12) and Shazia Parveen (14), he said adding 15 others suffered injuries.
The bodies have been sent for post-mortem and the injured persons admitted to a hospital, police said.
