Three persons were today killed and 16 injured in a head-on collision between a bus and a mini-truck on the Badaun-Panipat highway here, police said.
The mishap occurred in the early hours near Chuchela village when the mini-truck's tyre burst and it rammed into the bus coming from the opposite side, Amroha ASP Uday Shankar Singh said.
The truck was loaded with iron scrap, he said.
The drivers of both vehicles, Avnish and Ram Chandra, and a bus passenger identified as Pramod Agarwal died in the accident.
Sixteen people were admitted to a nearby health centre with head injuries, the centre in-charge said.
Later, they were shifted to different hospitals.
