3 killed, 2 injured after speeding car rams into truck

Three persons were killed and two others were injured after their speeding car crashed into a truck at Sanvad Phata near here early today, police said.

The victims, including a woman, were travelling to Jalgaon from Palghar near Mumbai when the accident took place on the Mumbai-Agra national highway around 2 am. They were returning after attending a marriage event, an officer of Killa Police Station in Malegaon said.

The speeding car ran into the truck when the latter had slowed down at a speed breaker, the officer added.

The deceased have been identified as Nayan Ashok Gadhe (26), Prabhakar Nathu Salunkhe (35) and Rekha Ramesh Patil (30), all residents of Chincholi village in Yaval taluka of Jalgaon district.
 

The injured were admitted in a government hospital in Malagaon, police said.
