3 killed, 30 injured in road mishap in Maharashtra

Three women labourers were today killed and around 30 others injured when their vehicle was hit by a truck in the district, police said.

The incident took place on Morshi-Chandur Bazar road at Udkhed village when around 35-40 labourers from Belkund, Redawa, Walkhed and other villages close to Maharashtra and Madhya Pradesh border were returning to their villages after picking up cotton crop, an official with Morshi police station said.

Out of the 30 injured, 17 have been referred to District General Hospital here and their condition is stated to be he critical, he said.

Others have been admitted to Sub-district Hospital, Morshi. The deceased were identified as Reshma Chantu Kasdekar, Shila Dandale and Rema Thakare.
 

Police said investigations are underway.
