3 killed, 38 injured as truck overturns

Three persons were today killed and 38 others injured when a mini truck they were travelling in overturned after the driver of the vehicle lost control over it in a bid to avoid collision with a motor cyclist in Bulandshahr district.

The accident took place this morning at Pachgai village - about 35 kilometers from here - under Khurja Dehat police station. The passengers were travelling from Shadipur village of Gautam Buddha Nagar to Arniya village to attend a ceremony, said police.

"Three of the passengers died on the spot while condition of seven of the 38 injured was critical and they have been referred to Meerut for higher treatment," they said.
