3 killed, 6 injured in accident in UP's Bareilly

Three people were killed while six more sustained injuries when a car collided with a truck here, police said on Sunday.

The accident took place near Padhrauli Chauraha under CB Ganj police station area of the city on Saturday evening, Superintendent of Police (City) Ravindra Kumar said.

"The accident took place late on Saturday evening at Padhrauli Chauraha, when the car in which eight passengers going to attend a marriage party collided with a truck, while trying to save a motorcyclist. The driver of the car vehicle lost control over it, and it ran over the divider and collided with a truck," Kumar said.

 

He added that the deceased have been identified as Farhan (9), Arif (12) and Gulshan (38).

The injured were admitted to hospital, where the condition of two is said to be critical, the police said.

The bodies of the deceased have been sent for post-mortem examination, the SP said.
