3 killed, 6 injured in jeep-bus collision in MP

At least three persons were killed and six others injured today when a jeep they were travelling in collided head on with a speeding bus near Kukraon village, about 35 kms from the district headquarters, police said.

"The accident took place this morning when members of a family from Nakjhar village were going to Titli village in a jeep. The jeep collided with the bus coming from Singrauli at Kukrao turn," Bahri Police station in charge Arun Kumar Mishra said.

The impact of the collision was so severe that the jeep got completely crushed, he said.

Three persons travelling in the jeep, identified as Baijnath Pandey (60), Ashok Pandey (50) and Pradeep Tiwari (28), were killed on the spot, while six others suffered serious injuries, Mishra added.
 

After getting the information, police went to the spot and removed the bodies from the jeep with the help of local villagers. All the injured were admitted in district hospital of Sidhi, he said.

A case has been registered and further investigation is underway, police added.
