3 killed, 6 injured in road accident in Gujarat

Three persons, including a woman, were killed today and six others injured, when a jeep carrying them rammed into a truck in Banaskatha district, police said.

The mishap occurred on the Panthavada-Dungri road in Panthavada tehsil when all of them were returning to their village after attending a medical camp at Deesa town in Banaskantha district, Sub-Inspector S B Chaudhary of Panthavada police station said.

The deceased, hailing from Shindhar village of Jalore district in Rajasthan, have been identified as Savji Rathod (40), Samandar Kunwar Rathod (35) and Lalsingh Rathod (42), said Chaudhary.

All the injured have been rushed to a government hospital for further treatment, he added.
 

A case has been registered against the truck driver, who is on run, in this connection and investigations are underway, the officer said.
