Three persons were killed and six others injured today in a collision between a SUV and an auto-rickshaw near Dumaria crossing in Bihar's Gaya district, the police said.
The incident took place after drivers lost control over their respective vehicles resulting in a collision at a narrow turning, Superintendent of Police, City, Awakash Kumar said.
He said three persons travelling in the ill-fated auto-rickshaw died on the spot, while six other persons in the vehicle sustained injuries.
The bodies have been sent for post-mortem and the injured have been admitted to government hospitals, Kumar said adding, both vehicles have been impounded.
The driver of the SUV escaped from the spot, he said.
Efforts are on to ascertain the identity of the victims, the SP said.
