3 killed, 7 injured in Lower Assam road mishap

Four persons, including three members of a family, were today killed and seven others injured when a van and a truck collided at Ghoramari Tiniali area of Sonitpur district in Lower Assam, police sources said.

While two persons died on the spot, two others succumbed to their injuries on way to Gauhati Medical College Hospital, police said.

The deceased were identified as Ramjanat Choudhury, Dipak Choudhury and Ramdev Choudhury and driver of the van Mewalal Singh, police said.

Seven others injured in the incident were admitted to Kanaklata Civil Hospital, an officer said.

The injured were identified as Dinesh Choudhury, Suman Kumari, Ramesh Kumar, Dipak Choudhury and Suraj Choudhury, police said.
 

All the deceased and injured persons were occupants of the van, a police officer said.
