At least three labourers were killed and five others injured when a stack of bricks collapsed at a brick field in Chapra area of Nadia district today, the police said.
The incident occurred at Rajibnagar locality when the labourers were placing newly manufactured bricks in a stack.
Suddenly, the stack collapsed and eight labourers went under a pile of bricks.
Two of them died on the spot and another one succumbed to injuries later, the police said adding that two of the deceased were women.
The injured were admitted to the Shaktinagar Hospital in Krishnagar.
