3 killed as tractor falls into gorge

Three persons were killed and five others sustained injuries when a tractor carrying labourers fell into a deep gorge West Siang district of Arunachal Pradesh Saturday, police said today.

The accident occurred when the tractor driver failed to negotiate a sharp curve between Gensi and Tatamori villages last evening.

The tractor carrying PHE department labourers was coming towards Gensi from Tatamori village during the time of the accident, police said.

The deceased were identified as labourers Tajum Doke and Gonesh Nath and the handyman of the tractor Panchal Sutradhar.

Chief Minister Pema Khandu announced to provide compensation and ex-gratia to the next of the kin of those died in the accident as per norms.
 

Health and Family Welfare Minister Jomde Kena instructed the local administration and the people of Gensi area to help the victims' families in their time of need.
