Three persons, including two priests, were killed and as many injured when a wall of a godown fell on an adjacent shed where they were sleeping at a temple premises in nearby Mettupalayam in the wee hours of today, police said.
The deceased were identified as the two priests of the local Kamatchiamman temple and another, who had come to assist them from a nearby shrine, in the Navarathri celebrations.
During the rescue operations, two bodies were pulled out and other four were rushed to a hospital here. One of them died on the way, police said.
The wall of the godown was totally wet, due to rains being falling for the last four days and fell on the shed of the temple.
