Three people were bludgeoned to death and another sustained serious injuries after they were allegedly attacked by robbers in a temple in Pali district, police said today.
Four people, including a priest, were sleeping inside the Chamunda temple in Pichava village last night when the incident occurred, Station House Officer (Sumerpur) Sumer Singh said.
"Some unidentified people barged into the temple in the night and smashed the head of all the four people with sticks," he said.

They shifted all the bodies in a room inside the temple and went on to collect the valuables, the SHO said.
The accused decamped with the valuables in the form of jewellery adorning the deities and cash from the donation box of the temple, Singh said.
After receiving an information, the police rushed to the spot and found one of them alive with serious injuries, the official said.
"We have started an investigation based on the modus operandi of the criminals and efforts are on to nab them", he added.
