A mother-daughter duo and another person were killed after being hit by rubble falling from the hillside as a result of a landslide triggered by rain.
The occupants of the car parked the vehicle and got down as a landslide occurred along the highway about 10 kms from here, District Disaster Management officer Devendra Patwal said today.
However, as they were running to safety they got buried in the rubble falling from the hillside, he said.
Two bodies have been recovered so far, the official said, the rubble was being removed from the spot.
The deceased have been identified as Rakesh Rawat and Kavita. The rubble is being scoured for Kavita 's 3-year-old daughter Srishti, the official added.
