Three persons, including a patient and a driver of an ambulance, were today killed and as many injured when the ambulance collided head-on with a truck on NH 5 here.
' The ambulance was carrying the patient from Bardhaman district in West Bengal to SCB Medical College and Hospital at Cuttack in Odisha when it skidded off the road and hit the truck coming from the opposite direction, police said.
The injured persons were initially taken to Soro hospital and then they were shifted to SCB Medical College and Hospital.
Meanwhile, two out of the three deceased persons were identified as Parthasarathi Dad (patient) and Talapada Baral (ambulance driver), the police said.
