3 killed in road mishap in Madhya Pradesh

Three labourers were today killed and another injured after they crashed into a barrier rod while travelling in an 'over-loaded' pick-up vehicle in the district, police said.

The incident took place under the Khamaria police station area when the victims, who were sitting on sacks of wheat, were returning from Panagar area to Shahapur region, Jabalpur Additional Superintendent of Police GP Parasar said.

Khem Singh (36), Phool Singh (48) and Sumitiya Bai (50) died after being hit by the barrier's rod while the 38-year-old injured Zira Bai was admitted to the government medical college, he added.

The vehicle driver Manoj Soni has been booked and arrested, the ASP said.
 

The barrier at Vardhaghat locality has been put up by Ordnance Factory Khamaria (OFK) to check traffic movement and security reason.
