Punjab government today said it will begin the process of distributing 3,03,074 pre-active cashless farmers health insurance cards under Bhagat Puran Singh Sehat Bima Yojna in the first phase of project.
Disclosing this, an official spokesman said Punjab Agriculture Minister Tota Singh will distribute the cards to state farmers at Sangrur on April 11.
Sikandar Singh Maluka Rural Development and Panchayats Minister Punjab will gave the pre-active health cards at Bathinda on April 11.
Under this scheme, farmers and their families would be provided health cover up to Rs 50,000 for their treatment, whereas a compensation of Rs 5 lakh in case of the death of the head of the family or in the case of any eventuality causing 100 per cent disability to that person.
