3 Malaysians arrested with 45 kg gold at B'desh airport

Three Malaysian nationals carrying 45 kg gold have been arrested by the Bangladeshi custom officials at the airport here.

The three landed in Dhaka yesterday on a Malaysian Airlines flight and during security search, 45 kg gold was recovered from them, said customs Assistant Commissioner Md Shahiduzzaman Sarkar.

"The estimated market value of the seized 45 kg gold is around Tk 270 million. The three Malaysians said that they were only carriers," the official was quoted as saying by the bdnews.

The three were identified as Hi Buyee Khong, 38, Johari bin Harun, 41 and Mohammed Ajwan bin Salihin, 21.
