Three members of a family were killed in lightning strikes in Ghazipur district as rain and thundershower occurred at isolated places over east Uttar Pradesh since yesterday.
Bagedu Rajbhar (38), his sons Prabhu (6) and Badhu (4) were killed in Bhawarkol area in Ghazipur district late last evening.
According to Met department, substantial amount of rainfall was recorded in Salempur at 4 cm, Gorakhpur at 2 cm, Ghoshi, Hata, Pratapgarh, Varanasi and Fursatgunj at 1 cm each.
Temperatures rose in Kanpur, Lucknow, Bareilly, Agra, Meerut, Faizabad, Allahabad and Jhansi divisions.
Temperature was below normal in Gorakhpur and Moradabad divisions and normal in the remaining divisions over the state.
Highest maximum temperature was 43.7 degree Celsius recorded in Jhansi.
