A POCSO court here has sentenced three men to 10 years of rigorous imprisonment for sexually assaulting a teenage boy in 2013 in suburban Kandivali.
Vicky Chindalia (27), Sunil Shyam Chindalia (27) and Deepak Chindalia (29) were found guilty by Judge AD Deo under Indian Penal Code (IPC) section 377 (unnatural offences) and the provisions of the Protection of Children from Sexual Offences (POCSO) Act.
The victim, in his deposition, said the three convicts lived in a chawl behind his building.
On December 10, 2013, when the victim was returning from tuition with his brother, Vicky forcibly took him to the watchman's room in a locked BMC garden in the area.
There, he had unnatural sex with him. Later, Sunil and Deepak also arrived at the spot and took turns to sexually assault the boy.
"The three accused persons are mature. Despite this, they committed the offence on a child victim of 14 years. The incident has caused an adverse impact on the mind and soul of the child victim," the judge observed in her judgment passed on Wednesday.

She directed the District Legal Aid Services to guide the victim's parents as regards getting compensation under a government scheme, in case it was not already granted.
"I am of the view that no compensation can be adequate nor can it be of any respite for the victim. The humiliation or the reputation that is snuffed out cannot be recompensed, but monetary compensation will at least provide some solace," the judge observed.
Besides the testimony of the victim, the prosecution examined eight witnesses during the course of the trial.
