Press Trust of India Jaipur
CPI(M) today alleged that three women working under MGNREGA scheme died due to heat stroke in Jaisalmer, Ajmer and Baran districts even as authorities denied the allegations.

"Three women MGNREGA workers died in Pokaran in Jaisalmer, Akrit Khedi village in Baran and Pisangan in Ajmer due to heat yesterday. Hundreds of workers are also falling sick as there are no arrangements for protection from the heat," state CPI(M) secretary Amra Ram said.

He said the government should make adequate arrangements for shelter and drinking water for workers.

However, Chief Medical and Heath Officers of all the three districts said no such death occurred in their respective areas.
